Vancouver Science World is an exciting place to spend the day with your family and there themes are always changing so even if you’ve been there before you can get a brand new experience. It all began back in 1977 with its temporary housing but in just five short years there were more 600,000 visitors and it became clear that a permanent location was needed. The rest is history as the number of visitors is still growing 30 years later. Don’t let your family miss out on this amazing adventure.

There are some permanent exhibitions with are self-directed and allow everyone to explore and discover at their own pace. BodyWorks Gallery lets you test your strength, speed, endurance, dexterity, memory, accuracy, and so much more, whether you are 10 or 100.

The Mitchell Odyssey Foundation lets you uncover the science of motion, light, sound, and water. Illusions of the mind is a mystifying adventure of how the mind works. Our world Gallery encourages each visitor to find solutions for their future. Kidspace Gallery is a exciting world of play for the kids; The Sara Stern Gallery is for the nature enthusiasts who will love what’s waiting for them.

The featured exhibitions change regularly so check with the Vancouver Science World for the most current exhibits. Don’t forget the Omnimax an breathtaking experience whether it’s the hurricane of Bayou, the Everest Dolphin, or the Grand Canyon Adventure to name just a few. The Omnimax is the finest motion picture system in the world with images that second to none in clarity, size, and impact with dome screens and superior sound systems because sound is key to the experience.

All that science and you’ll be working up an appetite. Grab a snack from the concession, use the vending machines, or pull up a chair at Triple O’s by White Spot featuring the same great selection that any White Spot has. The Omnimax pictures change regularly but no matter which one you see you’ll feel like it’s real. There are only two other screens as large in the entire world – The La Defense in Paris, and The Liberty in New Jersey.

Pender Lodge, Hazelwood Hotel, the Georgia House and Pender Place, Georgian Court Hotel, and City Center Motor Hotel are all conveniently located near Vancouver Science World. And if you’d prefer not to eat at Science World, there are plenty of nearby restaurants such as William Tell Restaurant, Irish Heather, or Sitar Restaurant. And if you’d like to slip out in the evening for a drink drop by the Brickhouse Late Night Bistro and Bar or the Dix BBQ & Brewery.

Vancouver Science World has something to offer kids and adults of all ages. It’s fascinating, educational, and a whole lot of fun. You’ll be talking about it for years to come.
