Ho Chi Minh for Families
Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon) is the largest city in Vietnam. Named after the revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh it covers an area of 2,356 sq km. The city is split up into 12 urban wards, and it is in Ward One that you'll find most of the tourist hotspots.
The first place you'll want to head to will be Dong Khoi Street, the hub of the city. Here you'll find all the restaurants, bars, famous hotels and high-end shopping. Although Dong Khoi only stretches 5 blocks, from the banks of the Sai Gon River to Notre Dame Cathedral, it is perhaps the most famous road in Vietnam.
As you walk around Ho Chi Minh you’ll spot the strong French Colonial influence in the architecture; a window looking back to the French occupation of Vietnam.
