| Kid Friendly Airports in Europe and the United Kingdom
Spending several hours in an airport is definitely not any sane person’s idea of “fun.” Unfortunately, it’s an unavoidable fact, that you and your family will be spending a minimum of 3 hours at the airport, waiting for your plane to take off. Even under the best circumstances, i.e. traveling without kids, you’d still need to keep yourself amused with a good book, PDA, handheld game or your favorite music. Adults have it relatively easy; the real difficulty is finding ways to keep your brood content while retaining your own sanity.
Fortunately, many airports in Europe and the United Kingdom are now cognizant of the fact that children need more than just a story book and a cookie to keep them happy and quiet. While... Read more on Kid Friendly Airports in Europe and the United Kingdom

Yoga isn't the easiest thing to do when travelling by airplane. Un-rolling your mat in the aisle and jumping into Downward Dog may raise some eyebrows, not to mention hold up the drinks trolley. Apart from the obvious ankle rolls and shoulder shrugs what can you do to arrive at your destination like you've just stepped out of a yoga class?
Well, did you know that those positions you contort yourself into on the yoga mat are only one eighth of Yoga? If you're lucky enough to have a good instructor who's teaching you how to breathe too, you'll be two eighths of the way there. But there are still six more aspects you're missing out on before you can really say you're "Doing Yoga."
It all harks back to a guy called P... Read more on Forgetting to Pack Your Yamas and Niyamas?
| | | Yoga on the Road
When you travel your yoga practice can go down the drain. If you haven't got a self practice firmly rooted in your life each new city will present the same old problems. Trying to find a yoga studio, looking for classes in a style you like, finding a teacher you enjoy, and even more importantly finding a drop-in rate that won’t break the bank. It seems like everything will try to get in the way. But hang on - pretty studios with sitar's crooning from the speakers and incense burning in the corner isn't the point, is it?
Yoga can actually be something to travel anywhere in the world with you, if you have the right tools. There are a few simple things that can help you sustain your practice no matter if you're out-pric... Read more on Yoga on the Road
| | | A Cold Day in El Paso
Alice, mothers of two and one of our valued customers who lives in Houston, recently sent a review and personal experience of her family's vacations to share with you. Alice titled it Family Tradition:
When our two sons were 7 and 14, we decided to start a family tradition of attending bowl games every year. To see if this new idea "fit" our family, we decided to start with one of the smaller bowl games -- the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas. Besides being a little less expensive than others, it was also close enough from home for us to drive. During those years, weather on the western Texas desert, surrounding El Paso was mild. Getting to the city two days in advance of the game, we enjoyed the sunshine and 80-deg... Read more on A Cold Day in El Paso
| | | Travel with kids: favorites places
As the travel industry grows it has come to recognize the specific needs of traveling familes, especially families that travel with kids and the requirements that accompany them. As an old lady with lots of experience in planning family trips I think I can offer some advice to those who are in the early stages of their summer trip with not only good places to visit, but also some practical advice and tools for making it all turn out smoothly. As far as places to travel with kids, there's a whole list of them out there from the normal destinations to some far out places. I've always been a fan mixing it up: travel with kids should be both fun and educational. When visiting family friendly destinations kids can have a blas... | | | Planning A Happy Family Road Trip!
Hi Zoe,
We're planning a driving trip to the North Country with our kids. I'd like to keep this as enjoyable as possible, i.e. without fighting, threatening, tears and my eventual insanity. How can my husband and I make sure everyone has a fun road trip?
Thanks, Driving in Detroit
Hello Motor City!
When I was a kid, my parents let us sit in the back of the station wagon and eat cereal from the box and sing along to the radio (Love, Love Me Do was my favorite). We would play cards and see who could find the most out of state license plates. We even got to sleep in the back!
Nowadays, with things being much safer, there is no riding or sleeping the back of the station wagon, but your kids can still stay hap... Read more on Planning A Happy Family Road Trip!
